My Adjectival Summer

In this first blog post, you will write 1 solid paragraph (6-8 sentences) explaining how words or actions changed you this summer. You will begin your paragraph with this sentence:

"I have never felt more _____________________(strong adjective) because of something that happened this summer."

After writing this sentence and filling in the blank with a strong adjective, you will explain what actions or words caused you to feel this way this summer.

For example, I might write, "I have never felt more energized because of something that happened this summer. This summer, I went camping nearly every weekend...." (In my next sentences, I would go on to explain how the experience of camping this summer has made me feel energized).

*Remember, blog posts are posted on "school property." Anything you post must be school-appropriate--something that you wouldn't mind Mrs. Pramenko or your parents reading.

  1. I have never felt more excited because of something that happened this summer. This summer I went to Seattle for nationals for soccer. When we went to Seattle we were the team that was expected to lose every game. When we played our first game it was against a team that was expected to be in the finals and we beat them. Then we won every game and got into the national finals. My team was so excited for the final game. Even though we lost, the excitement was unreal and we achieved so many goals as a team and we were so proud of each other.

  2. I have never felt more accomplished because of something that happened this summer. This summer I learned how to play three complicated bass riffs in as many days. The reason these riffs were so complicated is the fact that they were written by one of my favorite bands, Primus. Primus is known for its near impossible bass lines, that include bends, slapping and popping the string, lots of distortion and the occasional use of a whammy bar. Learning these riffs made me feel accomplished because these riffs are difficult for some of the most efficient bassists to play, while I ,a novice, can get them down in three days. A hilarious part of this process was the fact that I nearly blew out my amplifier by the amount of slap and distortion needed to play just a 2 minute song.

  3. I have never felt more joyful than I have this summer in past summers. This summer I was constantly with friends hanging out and not at home bored all summer. During this summer my friends and I would hang out at each others houses, Southglenn, and other places such as pools and parks. We usually had football in the morning so we would have to wake up early every day but that was a good thing. Since football ended earlier than we would regularly wake up so it gave us time to prepare for the day and get ready to hang out earlier. Some days we would go swimming for several hours and then go to Southglenn, and other days we would meet at Southglenn and then go to a friends house for hours and maybe into a sleepover. Even though transportation was an issue some days my friends and I all figured something out to meet some time during the day. With all the fun I had with my friends this summer was truly the most fun i've had in all my summers.

  4. I never have felt more Excited because of something that happened this summer.
During summer, I went to California and got to go see my family and Friends. The most exciting part about California was going to the beach. The beach was the most exciting place because we going to swim and have a barbecue, we also got to use these bikes that could fit 6 people, we got to stroll around the street. We went to a temple and it was really big, it had a a lot of people from different places and many Sculpture's with unique art style. The Final Place we went to during the trip in California was going to Disney Land, there were many attractions and fun things to do, we mostly went into Roller Coasters. During the night, there was a firework show, it was amazing but it was also Really hot. Those were the most exciting things I did in California.

  5. I have never felt so exhausted because of something that happened this summer. This summer, my youth group and I flew to Minnesota for a mission trip. During the mission trip we had very early mornings and late nights. After we ate breakfast in the mornings we drove for thirty minutes to a work site. At this work site we worked on scraping paint, priming, and painting a house in the heat with only a break for lunch. Every day we worked for over six hours for five days straight. On the last day, everybody was slow moving and exhausted, just like I was.

  6. I have never felt more cheerful because something that happened this summer. This summer, I did so many of the things I love and the things that make me happy. All summer long, I played soccer 3 or more days a week and played in a tournament in Steamboat. I went on a week long sailing trip in the San Juan Islands north of Seattle. At the end of the summer I visited family on a lake in Indiana and raced Lightning class sailboats and went waterskiing. I even snow skied in June when I skied the Dead Dog Couloir from the summit of Torrey's Peak, a 14er. All of the fun activities I did made my summer so fantastic and I was always cheerful.

  7. I have never felt more alive because of something that happened this summer. This past summer was really busy for me. From The first day to the last day my summer was full of exciting events. What opened up my summer was playing baseball for Arapahoe High School. I was excited to finally be playing for my school. During the blistering hot months of May and June I had baseball almost everyday. Weather it was practice, games, workouts or team events I was busy the whole time. Throughout the time of the summer I had baseball going on our team played 52 games. Even though we didn't win most of them I had fun playing this summer. After baseball was over I had time to just kick back and finally have relaxing time and be able to do things that I couldn't do for the first half of the summer. During the months of July and August I enjoyed hiking and camping in the mountains, cooling off at the pool, and hanging out with friends. Overall my summer was action-packed every aspect was exactly what I wanted it to be.

  8. This summer I felt really energetic, because I did a camp called PAA (Performing Arts Academy) and I did the performance Hairspray, And got casted as the lead Character Tracy Turnblad. And if you have seen the movie and or seen the musical on stage, you know that Tracy is a very spunky, energetic, perky person. So I had to inherit her personality into me, and that's the cool thing about being a performer is you get to be a completely different person for just a few days. Each day I had to come in with even more energy than I ever had the day before, because the younger kids looked up to me since I was one of the older ones. During the performance, I took in the audience's energy and the cast backstage and put that into me as a person, and a character, and kept it for the rest of the summer.

  9. "I have never felt more ecstatic because of something that happened this summer.
I felt so ecstatic when I went back to Mexico. It had been over 1 year since I had been into my bed, my room, my desk, my house. Being back in my room made me feel same which made me feel ecstatic and over joyful. The experience of going back to Mexico made me feel ecstatic. I wasn't just happy, I was thrilled, excited and so ecstatic. I felt like when a little kid gets his favorite toy, full of happiness. I was also ecstatic because I love Mexico and I was excited for what was about to come. Going to mexico and spending time with family made me feel delighted.

  10. I felt the most relaxed when I was on my 3 hour long zip lining course. I felt that way because I got to clear my mind and didn't have to worry about anything else. I also felt that I was getting rid of the negative thoughts that I had and could just enjoy the view while I was zip lining and also just be me. I was relaxed because I was never trying to be someone that I was not. It felt so awesome for me because it was just me and nobody else so I could just be who I am. I got to do something that I really enjoyed doing and that I felt the most relaxed in.

  11. I have never felt more adventurous because of something that happened this summer. This summer, I drove to Vancouver,Canada with my family. Despite the fact the average amount of hours of driving each day was seven, I experienced a great time driving through several states and bonding with my family. Going to Vancouver was the first year we took a vacation out of the states, which made it exciting and something to look forward to. Even before the road trip, adrenaline was running through our veins but an anxiety feeling was lingering in our stomachs. During the whole entire vacation, we explored every state we drove in and there was not one single second I dreaded or missed home. Then after Vancouver, we took a ferry over to Victoria which was amazing since we had never took one before. We stayed in Victoria for two days until our adventure was over. It was depressing to head back home, but because of Vancouver, this summer will be unforgettable.

  12. I have never felt more relaxed because of something that happened this summer. Over the summer I went to Lake Powell in Utah. This trip made me feel relaxed because I was able to get away from social media, texting and calling. My family had picked a spot to place the house boat and it was far enough away from any other family so you would have no interruptions at any point in the day. I had the chance to perfect my waterskiing skills and attempt to figure out how to wakeboard. With this vacation at the end of the summer I got the chance to get away from everything for a little bit.

  13. I have never felt more exhausted and board this summer. I haven't done much this summer but watch my older cousins daughter and go to weight training for football. wight training was fun though, it was watching my cousins daughter that sucked. the reason i had to watch her so much was because my cousin moved in.Them moving in brought me a lot more problems than just watching their daughter. My cousins wife was had addiction to a type pain killer called kraytum. when my aunt found out it made her very angry and then she wouldn't let me do anything i wanted to. this has been one the worst summers ever.

  14. I have never felt more sick because of something that happened this summer. My mom and her friend Brandi had a half marathon so me, my dad, my sister, Brandi's husband, and Brandi's two year old decided to all drive up the mountains to meet them at the finish line so we all piled in the car and started the drive. What my dad failed to tell me was that the traffic on the way up would last two hours, and it was raining to I could not roll down my window and I get car sick easy, on top of this Brandi's two year old was in the back with us she was not to bad but she had her moments, my sister and I were also both grumpy so we got in to two or three fights and I had a splitting headache on top of my car sickness which just made it all so much better, I also had no water to drink to help my stomach instead I had strawberry banana brisk A.K.A the worlds most sugary drink. By the time we finally got there my mom and Brandi had already finished (sorry mom), Brandi's kid had fallen asleep, and I was finally out of the car with fresh air and time to sit down and not throw up.

  16. I have never felt more happy because of something I did this summer. In June, I went on a vacation to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. We went with my moms whole family and stayed in a big beach house. I got to hang out with all of my cousins and just be on the beach. My cousins and I played frisbee on the beach and even set up a game of water polo in our pool! We had tons of fun playing games and just hanging out. My summer would not have been nearly as good without me trip to North Carolina with my cousins!

  17. I never felt more happy because of something that happened in my summer. In July I went on a vacation to Europe with my family and I. We went all over Europe to London, Cornwall, Paris, and Italy. We had to run through the airport to get to our gate to England. Then when we got to London we saw these street performers that were really cool and fascinating to us. Then in Cornwall we saw my cousins. They were so nice and funny. Then we saw Paris " The City of Lights (Love)" and we went to the Eiffel Tower. Then in Italy we had a lot of Italian food. then we saw my mom's friend that she has known for 41 years. Then we had to go back to Denver.

  18. I have never felt more adventurous because of something that happened this summer. I went to a wolf experience where you are privileged to enter the cage with wolfs and pet them as they go by. How ever I'm not going into a cage with three wolfs alone without knowing anything about them. So first i went into a small lesson about the wolfs they have. I also went int cages with multiple wolf dogs one was named Thor the other Lady. They had a small building that they could use if it rained and they would stand two paws on the roof two paws on your shoulders the larger one Thor weighed about 150 pounds. Then walking to the pure wolf cage our guy stopped to show us a bucket chewed to bits and told us how steel it harder than bone so look out. Inside the cage the wolfs are calm but you cant show weakness or they attack so you have to relax and stand up tall. It was very scary but im still alive so i cant complain.

  20. I have never felt so fantastic because of something that happened to me this summer. This summer was so fantastic because of the people I got to share it with. I enjoyed sharing every day of summer with my friends and doing a bunch of fun things. It always included days of swimming, and nights filled with movies, the park, or talking non stop. This summer supplied me with memories I will always keep. This summer gave me real friends and happiness. Summer 2014 was the best summer yet, and theres nothing I would change about it.

  21. I have never felt so adventurous because of something that happened to me this summer. This summer, I rode The Exhilarator at Knottsberry Farms in Anaheim, California. This is the ride that changed me from anxious wreck to thrill seeking lunatic when it comes to roller coasters. After being strapped in, The Exhilarator exhilarates to 80 mph in 2 seconds, launching it's terrified victims 200 feet into the air. A few second stop later, the ride then plummets down towards the Earth with a defying roar. While The Exhilarator is spiraling lower and lower, the only sounds heard are the screams of the terror-stricken riders. Finally, after one last swirl around the tracks, the ride comes to a sudden stop. After this experience, there isn't a roller coaster in the world I wouldn't ride. Now I'm more adventurous than ever.

  22. I have never felt more exhausted because of something that happened to me this summer. This summer I went to two different softball camps. My first one was at 8:00am and when until 12:00pm. It was so hot having to be in the sun all day long. The next camp was horrible it was at 3:00pm to 5:00pm. We had to run outside then do weight training in the hot weight room. After we had to run up stairs five times and sprint across the gym until 4:00pm to work on the field until 5:00. Then tryouts only two days later and the first day I couldn't even tryout because the office wasn't open for a pink card so i only had one tryout day. So after that summer i don't know what to do.

The water was so clear like looking through a window. The river wasnt to fast so we could get in the water a swim around! The float took about 2 hours and it was the best two hours of my summer.
